The pilot introduces interior decorator Grace Adler and her best friend lawyer Will Truman, who happens to be gay. In this episode, Grace comes crying to Will (again!) when she breaks up with her boyfriend. However when she decides to forgo Will's advice and goes back to her boyfriend, can Will be happy for her?

2. New Lease on Life

Will is determined that Grace find her own place to live, however when she finally finds a place, he isn't as happy as he'd thought he'd be; Jack McFarland finally meets Karen Walker.

3. Head Case

Tired of using the small guest bathroom while Will uses the main one, Grace decides to do some renovating. Unfortunately Will has some control issues.

4. Between a Rock and Harlan's Place

When Grace is hired to decorate Harlan's apartment, Will can't help but control things. Meanwhile, Jack debuts his new cabaret act, "Just Jack"

5. Boo! Humbug

Will and Grace (the Ebeneezer Scrooges of Halloween) spend the holiday baby-sitting Harlan's two kids. Meanwhile, Jack and Karen go downtown for the annual "Gay High Holy Day" parade.

Grace is unnerved when she learns that Will has kept secrets from her; Karen asks Will for legal advice.

7. Where There's a Will There's No Way

Grace blames her disinterest in men on having too much fun with Will so she enacts a "no fun" policy; Will helps Jack, who has NEVER paid taxes,when he's audited by the IRS.

8. The Buying Game

When Grace has a chance to buy her studio place, she asks Will to negotiate the contract, only to learn that Will is a ruthless negotiator. Meanwhile, Jack tries his hand at massage therapy and uses Karen as his guinea pig.

Will and Grace spend their days listening in on the real-life soap opera carrying on downstairs leaving them oblivious to Jack.

Grace buys a dog against Will's wishes, but he quickly becomes overly attached to it.

In an effort to help Grace and Jack bond, Will lets himself get dragged to an ice-skating competition on his birthday.

When the apartment gets neglected because Grace is stressing out about the annual design show competition, Will decides to hire a maid. Unfortunately, Grace soon latches on to the woman. Meanwhile Jack poses as a corporate lawyer to impress a man.

Grace is in a tither when her overbearing (but well-intentioned) mother visits and suggests that Grace should marry Will. Meanwhile Karen suspects that she's pregnant.

Will's older brother, who hasn't talked to Will in five years, comes to town but Will refuses to see him. Meanwhile Jack finally learns (to his shock) that he's not 29, but 30.

15. Big Brother is Coming (2)

Will is angry when he learns that Grace slept with his brother. Meanwhile Karen helps Jack deal with the fact that he's thirty.

Will and Grace vie for the attentions of a handsome but sexually amibiguous man.

The gang travels to a cabin in the woods hoping to take Will's mind of the anniversary of his and Michael's break-up,unfortunately Grace runs into an old flame and struggles to hide it from Will

18. Grace, Replaced

When Grace starts working long hours, Will looks to his new friend, Val for companionship. That leads Grace to worry that Val will replace her in the role of Will's best friend. Meanwhile Jack is sentenced to pick up trash for slapping a meter maid.

19. Will Works Out

When Jack joins his gym, Will becomes embarrassed by Jack's flamboyant behavior and refuses to introduce him to his straight friends and clients, hurting Jack's feelings in the process.

20. Saving Grace

Grace gets a job working for a wealthy publicist, but there's a catch: he demands that she fix him up with Will.

21. Alley Cats

When Grace is told that her competitive streak is making her friends uncomfortable, she develops a more mellow playing attitude. But the loss of her competitive edge, brings out Will's; After learning CPR, Karen saves a life.

Jack marries Rosiario, Karen's maid, to keep her in the country; Will and Grace decide that they shouldn't live together anymore.
